Vermont Canoe & Kayak
Vermont Canoe & Kayak does one river and one river well—the Lamoille! Take the short, scenic trip through Smugglers’ Notch to the other side of the mountain. Vermont Canoe & Kayak is located in the picturesque village of Jeffersonville right along the Lamoille River.
Offering rentals of canoes, solo and tandem kayaks and paddleboards. They’ll shuttle you upriver to any one of the three launch locations. Pack a lunch, fishing pole, bathing suit, even your dog and enjoy a leisurely self-guided paddle back to your car.
Prefer a guided tour? Choose from the popular Water and Wine Tour that takes you in the boat of your choice to the Boyden Valley Winery & Spirits in Cambridge, an Ice Cream Float – who wouldn’t want to stop and eat Ben & Jerry’s on a beach along the way? –and the SUP Yoga Class, an opportunity to try your yoga skills out on a paddleboard on a beautiful calm, serene 15 acre private pond.
On the Maple Tour learn how maple syrup is produced and find yourself surrounded by every maple treat! The Morning River Kayak is offered for paddlers of all abilities. Our NEW Kayaks & Cocktails takes you to the Smugglers’ Notch Distillery for a tasting of their quality spirits.
The Sweet Haven Farm Tour is Vermont Canoe & Kayak’s only non-river tour. They will shuttle you to the Sweet Haven Farm, a robotic dairy farm nestled in the beautiful hills of Fletcher, VT. The Sweet family will share with you their 100-year history of farming and show how they have diversified to be sustainable in 2019. Visit their sweet Holstein and Jersey cows, calves and heifers and milking cows. And yes, they are milked by robots! The Sweet family’s passion is to bring wholesome dairy products to your table. On this tour, you will also enjoy wholesome white or chocolate milk and Vermont cheese, as well as the option to purchase their maple syrup.
