California Zinfandel Tasting
Back to Trapp Family Lodge
Join the Trapp Family Lodge in the Wine Cellar for the California Zinfandel Wine Tasting on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
The grape originally came from Croatia, perhaps via Southern Italy where it is still known as Primitivo. But until recent DNA testing which uncovered this history no one knew where Zinfandel came from and it has been growing all over California for well over a hundred and fifty years, so many of us just came to think of it as our grape. The name may have originated in Austria though no one’s sure. At any rate Zinfandel, like our country has many European roots. The grape produces big fruity wines that will warm your heart, mind and belly.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations at (802) 253-5742. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. They suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. The tasting ends at 6:00 p.m.
