California Zinfandel Tasting
Back to Trapp Family Lodge
Join Trapp Family Lodge in their Wine Cellar for a California Zinfandels wine tasting on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
Zinfandel originally came from Croatia, perhaps through Southern Italy where it is still known as Primitivo. Until recent DNA testing uncovered this history, no one knew where Zinfandel came from and it has been growing all over California for well over a hundred and fifty years, so many of us just came to think of it as our grape. The name may have originated in Austria though no one’s sure. At any rate Zinfandel, like our country has many European roots. The grape produces big fruity wines that will warm your heart, mind and belly.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations at (802) 253-5742. Doors open at 4 p.m. They suggest arriving no later than 5 p.m. to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. The event ends at 6 p.m.
