Horseback Riding in Stowe

In Stowe you will find numerous beautiful areas to explore on horseback. With the many options available to new or experienced riders, a visit to one of Stowe's stables is a truly unique memorable experience. Each facility offers its own special touch, from riding lessons to carriage and wagon rides, and from trips through woods and meadows with panoramic views of the Green Mountains to backcountry tours and lakeside picnics.

Edson Hill Manor: At this riding stable you'll find old fashioned carriage rides in the summer. Guided trail rides through the woods in summer and winter, including trotting and cantering for intermediate and advanced riders. Longer rides of up to 3 hours with lunch are available by prior arrangement. Private lessons by appointment.

Windy Willows Farm: Nestled in the hills high above the village of Johnson.  Come and explore hidden trails that will lead you through lush forest and pristine wilderness while discovering forgotten treasures of Vermont's Green Mountain heritage.  Your path will take you along winding brooks, open meadows, old stone walls and many great  views. Three different rides offered:  1 1/2 hour, 3 hour picnic ride and a full day ride with lunch.  Open year round.  Trail rides are for ages 12 and up, pony rides are also available.
