The historic auto toll road zigs and zags its way to the summit ridge of Mt. Mansfield where stunning views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains await you. One of Vermont's most unique summer attractions, The Famous Mount Mansfield Toll Road, allows visitors to drive their cars to the top of the state's highest peak, where they can enjoy the magnificent views or have easy access to summit hiking trails. The Toll Road was originally built in 1856 as the carriage road which brought guests to the Summit House Hotel.
The cost is $24 per car (plus $8 per person over six people). Please note that bicycles and motorcycles are not permitted. The toll road is open daily 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., May 23 - October 19.
