Certainly not all the kids—and parents who stop at Ben & Jerry’s Factory in Waterbury Vermont for a cone—and a quick lesson in ice cream making--on their way to Stowe Look around your middle school gym class. Think you’d go into business with anybody? Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield met in gym in Merrick, Long Island, NY. Later, they converted an old abandoned gas station in Burlington, VT to an ice cream store where they sold their homemade scoops that were so popular for their giant chunks of cookies, fruit and nuts that people lined up out the door for them. That was more than 25 years ago. Today, of course, you can get Ben & Jerry’s ice cream all over the world.
