Celebrate and help others by bringing a non-perishable food item to benefit Lamoille Community Food Share. Drop offs will be located at the Mayo Farm Events field 6:00 p.m. until disk. Additional Village drop off locations include Lackey's Store, Shaw's General Store and Stowe Recreation (on the green) from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

“The Lake Effect”

In celebration of Lake Champlain's Quadricentennial, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra will present a salute to Uncle Sam--Vermont's own Uncle Sam that is, Samuel de Champlain, who discovered our bordering-on-great lake in 1609. The VSO pays tribute to our Frenchman in America with Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and a program both Gallic and aquatic: an overture by Berlioz, a medley from Les Misérables, Sousa's Hands Across the Sea March, Handel's Water Music, and show tunes from South Pacific. Fireworks accompany the 1812 Overture for a dramatic bon soir.

Enjoy this unique program that will teach you the elements of fly fishing which include: basic casting, knot tying, fly section and identification. The program allows "The River to Become the Classroom" by teaching you to mend the line, quarter the water and how to identify the stream & river's runs, riffles and pools.

The Annual Vermont Mozart Festival is entering its 36th season and plans to put on a show at the Trapp Family Lodge on July 26, 2009. Watch as a talented group of musicians perform some of the greatest works by Beethoven, Haydn, Bizet and Mozart.

Waterbury Community and Morrisville Military Bands

Your friends and neighbors join forces each year to continue a New England Tradition – the town band concert. You’ll hear some toe-tapping Broadway tunes, military marches and music from a bygone era. And, of course, you’ll know the concert is over when the bands play our National Anthem!

Mark your calendar for the Fleischer Jacobs Group (FJG) Race To The Top Of Vermont on Sunday, August 30, 2009. After a tremendously successful debut event last summer, they will continue to make this one of Vermont's premier running and mountain bike races. Take the Catamount Challenge by racing to the top of Mt Mansfield with 800 other like-minded athletes. We will even have a non-competitive class for those participants who wish to walk to the top of VT.  Participants will receive a tech shirt, a CTA Guidebook, post race BBQ, be eligible for a large raffle, and awards to the top 3 in each ten-year age group. This year the Catamount Trail Association will team up with Mobius, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to growing a culture of mentoring in our communities and finding caring adults to mentor children.

On August 20th, come and enjoy an intimate musical degustation. Featuring the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas Chamber Ensembles performing works by Villa-Lobos, Piazzola, Ravel and jazz on a theme by Vivaldi.

The very next night, listen to Music and Arias from Carmen, La Traviata and La Boheme. Featuring rising stars from the Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program.

And on the last night, enjoy the grand finale, featuring dance-inspired music from Argentina, Mexico and Russia. Featuring Astor Piazzola's Tangazo, Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez and Tchaikovsky's glorious Fifth Symphony.

The Harvest Festival is held on the 20th and 21st of September and includes a variety of events, from wine tasting to live music, with activities that will appeal to all ages.
