Enjoy the peace of Vermont's winter wonderland while enjoying an age-old form of transportation. Our experienced 'mushers' and their teams of Siberian Huskies will share their love of dog sledding with you during the 2-hour adventure. You will learn the history of the sport, have the chance to drive the team and make some new four-footed friends. Our trips are designed to be educational and interactive. Every time out is an opportunity in training and there is something to learn from each adventure. We want you to be a part of our team and feel that you ran the dog team. We encourage as much participation from you that is within your comfort level. This includes preparing the dogs - harnessing - driving the team, treating and watering the dogs or just sitting back and enjoying the ride. The sled design offers you a chance to drive while the musher maintains full control of the sled and team.

Visit Peace Pups Dogsledding at one of our area locations for a wide range of dog powered activities. Through out the winter we offer dogsled experiences both at our convenient Lake Elmore location and right in Stowe at the Stowe Mountain Resort. Through out the fall and spring we offer wheeled dog powered adventures.

Our Lake Elmore dogsled tours are two hour outings which are run on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays through out the winter. These are run on a beautiful wilderness trail with plenty of ups and downs so you can experience both the power of our Siberian Huskies as they climb and their speed as we race down the other side. It’s a great way to get out and see the natural beauty of Vermont. Think of a roller coaster ride on snow!

Our Stowe Mountain Resort tours are one hour outings and are run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from the Inn at The Mountain. These are run on a trail that traverses the base of Mount Mansfield. They offer the convenience of being right in Stowe. It’s a chance to experience dogsledding that is easy to fit into your busy vacation schedule.

During the fall we offer dog cart rides from our cabin in Lake Elmore. This is the ultimate experience for real dog lovers and includes a digital slide show; opportunity to interact with the dogs in their dog yard and a five mile cart run. Allow at least three hours for this activity so you have plenty of time to play with the dogs!

During the heat of summer we only offer morning scooter outings. For the safety of our dogs we do not run them as a team unless it is below 55 degrees. Scootering allows for slightly higher temperatures since the dogs are not pulling as much load.

We are available for educational dogsledding presentations for both private gatherings and schools. These can be custom tailored to fit your needs and can include slide shows and demonstrations.

We encourage all guests to book well in advance for any of our activities. We maintain a small kennel with the focus on sustainability and attention to detail. We believe this offers our guests the best possible experience but it does limit the number of customers we can take out each week.

Eden Dog Sledding offers educational sledding adventures for families or couples Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall! Our goal is to provide a healthy, happy home for our dogs while giving guests of all ages a hands-on, educational, breath-taking experience.

Located only 45 minutes from Stowe, Eden Dog Sledding is home to many of New England’s sledding champions. But besides winning races, these dogs are our livelihood, and our family. That’s why we took the unprecedented step of leaving all our dogs free-range. We like to call them the Un-Chained Gang! Because the dogs are not only working animals, but also family pets; the gang are all very friendly and love interacting with guests, especially children. Every tour includes lots of hands-on time with the dogs, including getting to harness and hitch your own team.

We want our guests to learn about dogs and dogsledding, so each tour includes a fun, interactive presentation, and lots of time to ask questions. We refuse to call our tours “rides” because they are so much more than that!

Our guests also enjoy peaceful woodlands and spectacular views of the Lowell Mountain range on our vast network of specially groomed trails used only for dog sledding – no noisy snowmobiles or ATVs. In the winter, trips to our cabin to warm up with a hot drink are a popular addition to our tours. Or, learn to drive your own team on our two-dog carts and sleds. Thanks to stops at our cold and refreshing pond, our dogs can take you Dog-Sledding-On-Wheels all summer long!

There is a lot of extra work that goes into running a successful and healthy kennel with free range dogs. But time after time we are reminded how rewarding dog sledding with happy, friendly dogs can be—for us and our guests. This knowledge has inspired Jim to pursue non-profit status for his business, as he expands his program to reach more people. It’s all about loving the dogs and the dogs loving you!

What our guests say:

“We thought it would be fun when we saw the brochure, but this is more magical than words could ever describe!”

“ Eden Dogsledding is an asset to Vermont that everyone should know about.  Johnny has not stopped talking about the dogs or the dogsled-ride-on-wheels.  After everything else we did while in Vermont, our visit with you guys is all he can talk about. . . and the first thing I bring up with friends when they ask about the trip”

"Mom, can I live here?"
