Watch for Wildlife!

October 2, 2015
Submitted by Waterbury Conservation Commission

This season is a particularly busy time of year for wildlife as they search for food and mates. PLEASE be careful driving the Byway and elsewhere for the life you save may be your own. Whether it be deer or moose in their rut or bears looking to bulk up for winter, they are crossing highways more frequently and car collisions can be deadly for everyone involved.

Even smaller critters such squirrels, chipmunks and mice are taking more frequent trips with cheeks filled with seeds and nuts.

Take your time, enjoy the change in season but please keep your eyes open for all wildlife crossing.
