"7 MILES OF SALES" JULY 4TH IN STOWE VERMONT

"7 MILES OF SALES" JULY 4TH IN STOWE VERMONT
Independence Day Sale Sidewalk Sale Features Stowe's Locally-Owned Shops
Stowe, VT (June 23, 2008) The picture-perfect New England town of Stowe, Vermont is home to more than 60 locally-owned boutiques, galleries and one-of-a-kind specialty stores. This Independence Day will mark the first “7 Miles of Sales Independence Day Sidewalk & Tent Sale” on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5.
Fourth of July sales are a tradition in Stowe, and this year shop owners have joined together to deliver an ideal experience for shoppers, who can feel good about declaring their independence from chains. Stores in Stowe are unique and independent and sized to become part of their neighborhoods, staffed by locals who are enthusiastic about the goods they sell.
This is the time to buy new ski gear; a kayak or canoe; unique clothing and accessories for both kids and adults; distinctive arts and crafts, and organic botanical body products, just to offer a sample. Routes 100 and 108, the main roads in Stowe, are loaded with opportunities—7 miles worth-- to save. Shop for yourself or dazzle someone in your life with a truly exceptional gift from Stowe. But Stowe offers much more than shopping. Visitors can experience the Vermont Symphony Orchestra in the Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow, an incomparable venue for concerts and picnics. Summer theatre thrives in Stowe this summer, and Stowe’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks, including the World’s Shortest (and out of the ordinary) Parade adds to the festivities. A visit, either for the day or a week is incomplete without sampling the dining in Stowe’s 40 or so restaurants, again, all locally-owned.
Located at the foot of Mt Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak, the idyllic village of Stowe, Vermont has been hosting travelers for over 200 years. A true four-season destination of international renown, Stowe offers endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Stowe offers nearly 70 unique shops, 40 restaurants, and nearly 50 different lodging establishments ranging from full service resort spas to quaint bed and breakfasts, all locally owned.
Stowe is the only Vermont location spotlighted in the recently-released 100 Places to See in Your Lifetime: America the Beautiful from the Editors of LIFE Magazine. Editor Robert Sullivan states, “It's pulled off the amazing trick of becoming famous and a destination, yet remained true to its essence: It is what it is, a New England village of great charm and a day-to-day that features village rhythms”.
