REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 27 FOR STOWE WEEKEND OF HOPE
8th Annual Cancer Event Offers Complimentary Rooms to Cancer Survivors
Stowe, Vermont (February 19, 2008) –. Registration for the eighth annual Stowe Weekend of Hope, which will be held in Stowe, Vermont May 2-4, 2008 opens on February 27. This event has become one of the most inspiring and educational events for cancer survivors in the country today. Presented by Stowe Area Association and Vermont Cancer Center, hundreds of cancer patients and their families join to celebrate life and to learn more about coping with this pervasive disease.
The Stowe Weekend of Hope is for people with all forms of cancer, unlike most national events that focus on only one form of cancer. Nearly four-hundred cancer survivors and their families, from 25 states and 3 Canadian provinces and representing 37 different cancers were lodged in hotel rooms donated by Stowe lodging owners last year. Cancer survivors are invited to register on or after February 27. Complimentary rooms are offered to first-time attendees only, based on availability. Discounted hotel rates are available for those returning to the Stowe Weekend of Hope, when donated rooms are exhausted, or for those wishing to extend their stay.
The free workshops and seminars include updates from field experts, information on new treatments, support, nutrition, clinical trials, prevention, care giving and much more. In addition to the diverse educational offerings, the weekend will provide many inspirational, healing and social events and closing ceremonies at the Trapp Family Lodge, which will feature the dedication of the Flags of Hope and Healing created by attendees throughout the weekend.
