THIRD THURSDAYS GALLERY EVENINGS IN STOWE
June – October

Third Thursdays invites the Public to a new Evening activity in Stowe. The Stowe Gallery Alliance of twelve Art, Craft, Furniture & Sculpture galleries are open until 9:00pm on the third Thursday of each month this summer through October. A trolley transports visitors throughout the evening, and participating restaurants offer specials to tempt the hungry connoisseur. Stowe Gallery Alliance has coordinated schedules to make the Third Thursday of each month a cultural happening. “Stowe has such a vibrant arts community, we think this makes for an enjoyable evening of gallery hopping.” remarked Nathan Suter, of the Helen Day Art Center. “It doesn’t hurt to throw in great food either.”

Third Thursdays features twelve galleries exhibiting nationally recognized artists, sculptors and craftspeople year-round. Tari Swenson from West Branch gallery spoke to the variety of works on view. “In Stowe there’s everything from 19th century paintings to contemporary sculpture. These evenings are an opportunity to see lots of great work and enjoy Stowe’s summer evenings.” “We created this event to allow greater access to Stowe’s thriving art scene this summer” noted Scott Noble of Green Mountain Fine Art Gallery. The evening hours make it possible for visitors from all corners of Vermont to visit the Stowe galleries, an artful way to pass a Vermont summer evening.
